When we first opened the roastery, we dreamed of roasting coffees as extraordinary as this washed Geisha from Finca Miraflores.
Geisha is one of the rarest and most coveted coffee varieties in the world. It produces exceptionally low yields and is highly susceptible to disease, demanding expert care at every stage.
Harvesting is painstaking and labour-intensive, with skilled pickers returning for multiple selective passes to gather only the ripest wine-red cherries at peak maturity, when their sugar levels are at their optimal high.
The cherries then rest submerged in cool water before undergoing a precise 100-hour anaerobic fermentation while submerged, followed by gentle washing and slow solar drying for up to 25 days to reach ideal moisture.
The result is a cup of elegance and complexity, prized for its floral aromatics and delicate, tea-like notes. This dedication, from meticulous farming through precise processing and roasting, is why Geisha commands its premium price.
Please note we only have a limited stock of this coffee so will be selling in 200g bags only and whole bean only.
This coffee is great for filter, best drank black.
